چکیده
Abstract Diversified crop rotation with an appropriate sequence may be a promising strategy for increasing productivity while reducing greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) and lowering carbon (C) footprint more sustainable agricultural systems. The objectives of this study were to (i) assess the agronomic performance C canola ( Brassica napus L.) production in different cropping systems, (ii) better understand how could adapted existing systems eastern Canada. A four-year canola-based phase study, including maize Zea mays L.), wheat Triticum aestivum soybean Glycine max started 2011 continued two cycles Ottawa, ON; Montreal, QC; Canning, NS. It was found that, compared continuous monoculture (canola, or wheat), diversified increased yields by average 32% reduced all rotations 33%, except under severe heat drought conditions. effect on yield varied significantly among site-years. At following (SC) had 12% higher than (CC), 5 8% (WC) (MC). ranked as MC > SC WC CC. highest (21%) (13%). Overall, most lowest footprint, CC only few exceptions. Regardless system, required N input high oil protein harvested product, produced at three sites. Our findings indicate that system improved footprint. However, profitable Canada is threatened climate change-induced stress.

Replenishing nutrients through organic sources is essential to maintain the soil health and sustainability in Eastern Himalayan Region, India which is organic by default. Keeping this in mind an experiment was laid out on randomized block design with six treatments viz., T1: Vermicompost (VC; 2.5 Mg ha-1), T2: Poultry manure (PM; 1.25 Mg ha-1), T3: Swine manure (SM; 3.0 Mg ha-1), T4: Cow du...
